The one where a man went overboard on Allure of the Seas…

The search continues for a 30 year old British man who was reported as going overboard from his Deck 11 cabin balcony on Allure of the Seas on Friday.

En route to Cozumel, Mexico, the largest ship in the world was carrying 6,000 passengers on a charter by gay and lesbian vacation company, Atlantis Events.

Multiple public announcements for the guest and a complete search of the ship were undertaken prior to the Captain alerting local authorities.

“A review of the ship’s closed-circuit camera footage observed the 30 year-old British guest going over the balcony railing in his stateroom on deck 11,” Royal Caribbean global corporate communications manager Cynthia Martinez said in a statement.

Allure of the Seas, along with the Mexican Coast Guard, Mexican Navy and the pilot boat conducted a search for the missing guest. At approximately 9:30am [local time] the Coast Guard released Allure of the Seas from the search and the ship continued to Cozumel.”

The ship sailed into port two-and-a-half hours later than scheduled.

“Our care team is providing support for the guest’s family and our thoughts and prayers are with them,” Ms Martinez said.
