Cruise fans around the world can take part in the lavish christening of Royal Princess on 13 June from the comfort of their own home, with Princess Cruises confirming that they will be streaming the event live online.

Join Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge and 2,000 guests in Southampton as the innovative 3,600-passenger ship is christened.

The Duchess will fulfill her godmotherly duties just weeks ahead of giving birth to her first child when she breaks a bottle of champagne against the ship ahead of chanteuse Natasha Bedingfield taking to the stage to perform her hit, “Unwritten”.

The entertainment won’t stop there though, with a line up including “the First Lady of London’s West End” Kerry Ellis performing, along with the percussive orchestra Mass Ensemble, the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Pipe Band of 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

The live streaming will commence at 11:15am local time in Southampton on Thursday 13 June (8:15pm Australian Eastern Standard Time).

If you can’t tune into the festivities live, the christening will be available for playback via http://www.princesscruises.com with the line encouraging people to get into the conversation on Twitter by using #RoyalPrincess.
