Norwegian Cruise Line announced the latest innovation for their newest ship, Norwegian Breakaway at the Cruise Shipping Miami conference last week.

‘The Waterfront’ and ‘678 Ocean Place’ are the onboard addresses for several unique bar, shop and restaurant offerings that the cruise line promises will offer an

unparallelled experience connecting passengers to the ocean more than ever before.

“With our newest ship, Norwegian Breakaway, we are continuing our tradition of innovation with a brand new ship design that will provide our guests with a unique experience unlike anything else at sea,” Norwegian Cruise Line CEO Kevin Sheehan said.

“The heart of Norwegian Breakawayand the elements that truly set it apart are ‘The Waterfront’ and ‘678 Ocean Place’. Guests will enjoy al fresco dining while admiring the beauty of the ocean, along with the excitement and exhilaration of

Public Studio Lounge

three expansive action-packed decks, as everything is designed to flow seamlessly.”

A total of 17 dining venues and 12 bars will make up ‘The Waterfront’ and ‘678 Ocean Place’ over three decks including a number of seaside venues that will allow passengers to experience more time al fresco.

Signature dining venues ‘Moderno Churrascaria’, ‘La Cucina’, ‘Shaker’s Cocktail Bar’ and ‘Malting’s Beer & Whiskey Bar’ will offer both indoor and al fresco seating options accessible via either ‘The Waterfront’ or deck 8, ‘678 Ocean Place’.

The line’s first ever all-seafood restaurant, ‘Ocean Blu’, will also offer indoor and al fresco dining along

Prime Meridian

with a premium raw bar and sushi bar, with another first for Norwegian, a gelato bar, located within an easy stroll on ‘The Waterfront’.

‘Breakaway Casino’ will feature more than 300 of the latest poker machines, 26 gaming tables and the ‘Casinos At Sea Players Club’ program over 18,000 square metres on deck 7.

It will also house a nightclub accessible via an LED-lit tunnel entrance that will lead to a dance floor surrounded by an illuminated bar and LED walls.

The intimate ‘Bar 21’ will be located adjacent to the Casino and will offer video poker and several plasma television screens.

The two-storey ‘Manhattan Room’ is

Savor Restaurant

a complimentary restaurant located on deck seven which will feature a large dance floor that is reminiscent of a New York supper club and live music nightly along with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows looking aft.

Following its popularity aboard Norwegian Epic, ‘Shanghai’s Noodle Bar’, the largest noodle bar

Le Bistro

at sea, will also make an appearance with all counter seating around an open kitchen serving Chinese noodles, wok-fried dishes and dim sum.

‘O’Sheehan’s Neighbourhood Bar & Grill’ will open 24-7 offering complimentary classic American fare and miniature bowling, air hockey tables, interactive games and a two-storey television screen showing sports and movies.

‘Bliss Ultra Lounge’ will be redesigned aboard Breakaway offering an alternative seafood option for passengers.

“In a recent guest survey, our guests chose a seafood restaurant as the number one type of restaurant they would like on board our ships,” Mr Sheehan said.

A variety of retail outlets, the photo gallery and ‘Humidor Cigar Lounge’ will be located on deck 8, 678 Ocean Place which will overlook an LED chandelier with light changing effects that will act as the centerpiece above a glass staircase connecting three decks.

‘Mixx Bar’ will be located between two of the three onboard complimentary main dining venues ‘Savor’  and ‘Taste’ while the line’s signature ‘Teppanyaki’ restaurant will feature a traditional Japanese rock garden and 96 seats surrounding 12 flat top grills.

European-style sidewalk dining will be an option at ‘Le Bistro’ French restaurant which will overlook ‘678 Ocean Place’.

This unique at-sea address will also feature a two-storey video wall and a Café and Bar at ‘The Atrium’ on deck 6 which will also house the shore excursion desk, internet café, art gallery, two meeting rooms, card room and a library.

Additional dining options and bars will be announced in late April with entertainment venues slated for announcement later this year ahead of Norwegian Breakaway’s launch in April 2013.
