Passengers set to embark on a P&O cruise will now receive a tailored series of personalised emails from a host of cruise luminaries including Carnival Australia CEO Ann Sherry, the ship’s captain, the cruise director and shore tour manager.
Designed to offer information and tips before sailing, the move is part of a host of digital initiatives by the line including an iPad app and desktop widgets launched earlier this year.
“We think passengers will really love getting emails about their holiday. Not only will they be useful, they’ll also help to build excitement,” said Carnival Australia senior vice president Jenny Lourey.
“There’s a great sense of anticipation and excitement amongst our passengers as well as a real thirst for knowledge about their holiday, so all these initiatives are designed to build on this and make the cruise experience even more enjoyable.”
Recipients of the emails will also be invited to join the line’s growing Facebook page and engage with fellow passengers prior to embarkation with the roll call function.
