Fans of the band Maroon 5 will be treated to a free concert celebrating Carnival Magic’s inaugural voyage from the U.S. next Sunday 13 November.

The port of Galveston, Texas, will be transformed with thousands of fans expected to take advantage of free tickets being distributed by Carnival via their Facebook page, senior cruise director John Heald’s blog and selected Texas radio stations.

“We wanted to do something big and memorable to mark Carnival Magic’s U.S debut and what better way to celebrate than to bring together fans of music and fans of Carnival, along with our partners in Galveston, for an exceptional afternoon of fun and entertainment,” Carnival Cruise Lines’ president and CEO Gerry Cahill said.

“We’re thrilled to kick off year-round Caribbean cruising on the newest and most spectacular ship sailing from Texas.”

Thousands of travel agent partners will also be hosted onboard following the concert for an evening of entertainment and dining prior to Carnival Magic’s departure on 14 November for her inaugural Caribbean cruise program.

“We’ve played every kind of venue imaginable across the world, but we’ve never helped to launch a new cruise ship. We’re excited to work with Carnival and to be part of the Carnival Magic celebration for fans in Texas,” Maroon 5 frontman and coach on ‘The Voice’, Adam Levine said.

Two alternating week-long itineraries will be offered from Galveston visiting ports including Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel for the western-Caribbean voyage and Nassau, Freeport and Key West for the eastern-Caribbean voyage.
