The one where Seabourn Quest was christened…

Academy Award nominee Blythe Danner officially named Seabourn’s third new ship and the sixth to join their fleet in a ceremony in Barcelona on 20 June 2011.

The 450-passenger Seabourn Quest completes a three-year expansion for the line and offered her maiden voyage guests the exclusive opportunity to participate in the festivities onboard.

An orchestra performed from either side of the swimming pool whilst a projection screen above the deck broadcast the smashing of the champagne bottle against the bow.

Confetti-filled champagne bottles were popped by crew who have worked as the start-up teams on all three new ship launches before a fireworks display.

“She is sleek and stunning with spacious decks and public rooms, luxurious suites, a variety of award-winning dining experiences and an amazing crew offering highly personalised service,” said Richard Meadows, Seabourn President.

“We can assure guests the very finest travel experiences when they cruise with us on this beautiful ship.”

Seabourn Quest is currently sailing on her 14-day maiden voyage visiting ports in France, Italy, Greece and Turkey en route to Athens.
