Royal Caribbean has committed to a third Quantum-class ship, with the announcement last week that they have signed a contract with Meyer Werft shipyard to deliver the new vessel in mid-2016.
The decision follows the positive response garnered by the unveiling of the innovations slated for Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas, expected to launch in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
“We are encouraged by the very positive response we received from travel agents and consumers when we first announced some of the unprecedented offerings on Quantum Class,” Royal Caribbean International president and CEO Adam Goldsteinn said.
“The Quantum Class will offer vacationers more unexpected activities in the most extraordinary spaces, and a third ship will offer even more opportunities for vacationers to experience Quantum cruising.”
The question on everybody’s lips right now is, what will this new ship be named?
Royal Caribbean Blog (a fan website not affiliated with the cruise line) has done their research and Royal Caribbean still has trademarks on the following names:
Ovation of the Seas (our money is on this one)
Passion of the Seas
Pulse of the Seas
Vantage of the Seas
It is expected that this new ship will join her sisters Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas in spanning 16 decks, encompassing 167,800 gross registered tonnes, carrying 4,180 passengers at double occupancy and featuring 2,090 staterooms.
She will also feature all of the innovations her sisters do, including skydiving at sea, dodgem cars and unique interconnecting staterooms. Click here for a full list of innovations expected from Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-class of ships.

I don’t like any of those names, i like the name I suggested Symphony of the Seas. But knowing them they will pick Ovation, they want a standing Ovation for the 3rd ship. I still love Royal Caribbean
