Norwegian has joined cruise lines including; Royal Caribbean, Silversea, Azamara, Cunard and Oceania in cancelling calls to Egypt following recent anti-American protests.
The line has cancelled Norwegian Jade’s calls into Egypt on its ten- and 11-day cruises from 21 November to 17 April 2013 visiting Istanbul, Turkey; Naples, Italy and Iraklion, Crete instead in a response to the situation in the region and feedback from passengers.
“At Norwegian Cruise Line, the safety and security of our guests, crew and ships is our highest priority,” a Norwegian Cruise Line spokesperson said in a statement to e-Travel Blackboard.
The ship will continue to sail on scheduled voyages visiting Egypt departing 31 October and 10 November however.
