Silversea has released two new brochures for their 2013 voyages, signalling a new era for the family-owned cruise line.
Taking in all seven continents across their six vessels, the company has separated their expedition offering with an independent 48-page brochure highlightingSilver Explorer’s 27 expedition cruises that will visit over 28 new ports.
“This is a new era for Silversea,” Silversea general manager and director sales/marketing Australasia Karen Christensen said at a media lunch yesterday.
“We survived the pricing war in luxury cruising. Luxury can no longer be defined by price. It should be defined by destinations we go to and the onboard experience.
“It should be defined by exceeding customer expectations.”
The 176-page 2013 Voyage Atlas features over 200 sailings to 450 destinations with the Mediterranean and northern Europe remaining the highest selling regions and Alaska selling out each year.
Ms Christensen also shared her excitement at the announcement of the 115-day world cruise aboard Silver Whisper, which will depart Los Angeles on 5 January 2013 taking in 52 countries including Australia.
Ten new ports of call will be introduced next year including; Fukuoka, Japan; Port Arthur, Tasmania; Sabang, Northern Sumatra; Laipeda, Lithuania; Saaremaa, Estonia and Soller de Majorca in Spain.
“With our high repeat guest numbers, we are constantly in search of new and secluded harbours to visit, which are inaccessible to other large cruise ships,” Ms Christensen said.
“The small size of each luxury Silversea vessel, enables the company to add new destinations each year.”
2012 has heralded an increase in passengers from the Australasia with added incentives including lower solo cruiser fares and Onboard Spending Credits across all Silversea ships bar Silver Explorer.
The only ultra-luxury cruise line that sails to all seven continents, Silversea offers personal butler service in every suite aboard every ship in their fleet.
The addition of a second expedition ship in late 2013 will also herald the inclusion of the Galapagos Islands to Silversea itineraries, with Ms Christensen alerting agents of the importance of booking early.
“Expedition cruising is one of our fastest growing market segments and agents need to be aware that early bookings are essential for Silver Explorer year ‘round.”
