Cruise Review: Carnival Breeze Pools and Outdoor Recreation

Waterworks

What would a Carnival ship be without the Waterworks area?

This Carnival ship not only offers two waterslides, the DrainPipe and Twister, to thrill cruisers of all ages but also a spray-ground featuring the 300-gallon Power Drencher designed to soak anyone who stands in the vicinity!

This particular cruiser recommends first-time sliders try the DrainPipe first to ease them into the speed built up on the Twister…and hold onto those bathers!

Stationary water toys and mini slides for those younger passengers, ensure that the whole family can stay cool while cruising.

Beach Pool

Located mid-ship on deck 10, the beach pool is lined with two cabanas offering seating for those just wanting to wet their feet whilst reading a book or chilling in the shade.

Within easy reach of the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar and Cantina, Red Frog Rum Bar, Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint, the Beach Pool is the perfect place to stay cool whilst still enjoying the food and beverage offering aboardCarnival Breeze.

Tides Pool

Located on deck 10 aft near 24-hour pizza joint Pizza Pirate and Indian-themed Tandoor, Tides Pool and jacuzzi seemed to be the quieter option on our voyage with most children preferring the Beach Pool and WaterWorks area.

Serenity Adults Only Retreat

Unlike other Carnival ships, this Adults Only Retreat is located on the complete opposite side to the attractions enjoyed by younger cruisers, meaning that not once when I was enjoying the ‘Serenity’ did I see a child in the area.

A chilled soundtrack (played considerably lower than the other areas on the ship), hammocks, a variety of cushioned sun lounge styles (including my favourite, the shell lounge), bar and a jacuzzi made this area very popular on sea days.

My advice is to head there early, or take some time out on a port day to enjoy an area that has been specifically designed with relaxation in mind.

Lanai

Two jacuzzis are located on the outdoor promenade on deck 5 and open until 11pm.

Many a night did we see robed up fellow passengers traipse through Liquid Nightclub en route to some relaxing time in the Lanai jacuzzi!

Carnival’s Seaside Theatre

Showcasing a variety of movies, TV shows, news programs, Carnival TV and sports events, the Seaside Theatre adds an extra element of entertainment to Lido deck.

The highlight for those sailing on my voyage was most likely the coverage of the Miami Heat final at 3:30am. People snuggled up on decks 10 and 11 to enjoy the coverage by moonlight…many bringing along with them pizza from Pirate Pizza that was an after-midnight snack for this cruiser many a night.

SkyCourse

Located on deck 12, cruisers can strap into a safety harness and select from a beginner or intermediate rope course almost 150-feet above the ocean.

Rope bridges, swinging steps and beams meant that I veered away from the adventure, but enjoyed watching my fellow passengers break into a sweat on my behalf.
