Princess Cruises’ Sapphire Princess has set sail to Hawaii following a three-week makeover adding a host of the line’s signature features to the ship.
Several venues were revamped with new carpet and upholstery now featuring throughout the ship and flat-screen televisions added to every stateroom.
“Making these changes to Sapphire Princess was an important step to ensure that our signature shipboard features can be found wherever our passengers want to sail,” Princess Cruises executive vice president Jan Swartz said.
Additional features include:
Revamped Piazza Atrium
The European-inspired Atrium boasts an ‘International Cafe’ offering pastries, salads, sandwiches and a variety of coffee styles.
‘Vines’ wine bar features a selection of 30 wines by the glass paired with sushi and tapas and a retail store.
Alfredo’s Pizzeria
Originally launched aboard Grand Princess last year, the pizzeria offers passengers an array of hand-made, individual-size pizzas prepared in an open kitchen.
Movies Under the Stars
The final ship to feature a giant screen poolside, passengers will be offered complimentary popcorn whilst watching concerts, films, sporting events and award shows on padded loungers complete with fleece blankets for those cool nights at sea.
The Sanctuary
An adults-only area that features ‘Serenity Stewards’ to cater to every passenger’s whim. Offering food and beverage options, along with Evian atomisers and pre-loaded MP3 players, ‘The Sanctuary’ is now a feature aboard all Princess ships.
